On Thursday, at least four people were killed and four others were critically injured after an explosion in a plastic factory in West Bengal.

According to the police, this blast was reported from Sujapur area of Malda district of the state, at around 11 am.

To bring the situation in control, a huge police contingent was sent to the spot.

Fire tenders are trying to douse the blaze and rescue survivors from beneath the debris, he said. An investigation is going on.

Describing the incident, a police official said, "Four factory workers were killed and four others critically injured in the explosion that ripped the establishment apart."
