The US state of Connecticut is providing a new way to cast ballots to its disabled voters.
According to Denise Merrill, Secretary of the State, the state's polling places will be equipped with the special computer tablets to help out the disabled voters in the presidential polls, scheduled to be held on November 8.
There will be a touch screen on the tablet and an audio program to help the voters with difficulty
reading and visual impairments.
Voters will be able to review the choices before being sent to a printer, that marks a paper vote to be fed through the same tabulator used by other voters.
The system replaces one which allowed disabled voters to cast votes using a designated phone and fax machine.
