77 dead in Nepal Flash Floods

Heavy rains lashed Nepal and they resulted in flash floods and landslides. The death toll reached 77 due to the flash floods in the country. 34 bodies are recovered in the nation as per the reports from the authorities. 24 people passed away in Panchthar district which is near to the Indian border. 13 people died in Ilam and 12 people died in Doti as per the officials. 22 people got injured and 26 people went missing. The rescue operations are going on currently and Sher Bahadur Deuba, the Prime announced a relief fund for the families of the deceased. The government of Nepal will provide 1700 USD as relief for the families of the dead victims along with free medical treatment for the injured.

The rescue operations came to a halt because of the bad weather conditions and continuous rains in the country. Hundreds of acres of paddy crops and farmlands washed away and submerged in water. Nepal Army and Nepal police with the support of the locals are conducting a search operation for the missing. The weather department warned of heavy rainfall in the coming days. In eastern mountain regions, there is a chance of snowfall in the coming days warned the weather authorities. The department of hydrology and meteorology issued a weather forecast for the next two days. The government asked the people to be extra cautious till things turn normal.
