Tennis player Roger Federer on Monday, chasing his ninth Wimbledon title stormed into the second round of the tournament made a peculiar move by approaching a girl who was holding a poster read 'Roger can I have your headband pleeease', and right away dug into his bag, giving her the headband.

Fans were mesmerized by his brilliant gesture, apart from the usual signing of photographs who were already fascinated to see Federer play on the court. He stole the heart of millions of his fans. This led to huge applause from the audience at the Center Court.

Post the match, father of the little girl took to Twitter to express his gratitude. "That was my daughter who received the headband. She is a MASSIVE fed fan and is absolutely thrilled. Thank you @rogerfederer. She will never forget this moment for the rest of her life. #goat #federer" wrote Abhijeet Joshi.

Roger Federer, a defending champion who will be shortly turning 37, has won Wimbledon eight times earlier. He likewise became a senior Wimbledon champion in 2017.

Federer, who has 20 Grand Slam titles to his name, and the world No 2, arrived having once again skipped the clay season while warming up for Wimbledon with a grass court title in Stuttgart and runners-up spot in Halle.
