Neeraj Chopra is now crowned as the new world champion in Javelin. In the World Athletic Championships 2023, India ended up with only one medal and also the solo male to reach the final. He finished on the high and made the country proud.
Besides this India’s Parul Chaudhary finished in the 11th place and qualified for the Paris Olympics, which will be held in Paris in 2024. She already created history by reaching the final of the World Athletics Championships 2023 in women's 3000m steeplechase. On 27th August in Budapest, she completed the race 10 seconds quicker than her qualification timings and created history.
Parul Chaudhary turned out to be the second female Indian athlete to ever qualify for the final round track event at the World Athletic Championships. She is from Meerut in western UP and the daughter of a farmer from the village Iklauta.
In shooting quota, Raheshwari Kumari fetched India’s seventh quota in shooting for the Paris Olympics. She was overwhelmed with joy after getting selected for the Olympics, as that is her years of hard work. This was India’s fourth quota for the Championships, Randhir – Rajeshwari will become the first father–daughter shooter duo to participate in the Olympics.
